Joint Pain Treatment

Pain in the joint may arise due to cartilage damage. This may be from injury, wear and tear, or arthritis in the joint. As a result, the joint becomes less mobile and painful. If a patient is not responding well to conservative methods, then surgery may be required.

Total Joint Replacement

If you need arthroscopic or joint replacement surgery, it's our number one goal to relieve your joint pain. Orthopedic surgery can also help regain joint function, correct deformities, and/or prevent further damage.

Total Joint Replacement - Arthritic or damaged joint is removed and replaced with an artificial joint designed to move like a normal, healthy joint.

Total Knee Replacement - An artificial joint is used to replace the diseased joint. The artificial joint is anchored into place with bone cement, or in some applications, it is covered with material that allows bone tissue to grow into it.

Hip Replacement - The head of the thigh bone and the hip socket is replaced with an artificial ball and stem made of a strong metal or ceramic, and the artificial socket is made of polyethylene or metal backed with a plastic liner. The artificial joint may be cemented in position or held securely in the bone without cement.

The goal of joint replacement surgery is to provide a pain-free hip or knee that will last as long as possible and allow the patient to enjoy a relatively normal lifestyle.

Post-Operative Therapy

At Redmond Regional, following surgery, therapy is pursued through a coordinated and multidisciplinary rehabilitation program. Our innovative regimen is focused on helping patients regain maximum mobility with the ultimate goal being the return to an active lifestyle. Patient education and personal interaction with our staff is our priority throughout your stay. Patients benefit through written materials and an active environment, with inclusion of family and friends in the recovery process.
