Letter From Our DIO

Welcome and thank you for your interest in HCA Healthcare Redmond Regional Medical Center’s Graduate Medical Education programs! Rome, Georgia is located about an hour from Atlanta and Chattanooga, Tennessee, and has long been a hub for medical education. Redmond’s Internal Medicine Residency welcomed the first class of residents in 2016 and the Transitional Year Residency began in 2017. Both programs have demonstrated success in placing graduates into practice in both hospital and outpatient settings, as well as further training in residencies such as emergency medicine, anesthesiology, and physical medicine/rehabilitation; and prestigious fellowships at the Medical College of Georgia and Duke University.

Here you will learn state of the art 21st century medicine. Our faculty are the products of many of the finest training programs in the country. We are supported by our local physicians in all settings, hospital and outpatient, including the Harbin Clinic, the state’s largest physician-owned multi-specialty clinic. Opportunities for teaching medical students abound through our affiliations with the Medical College of Georgia, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (Georgia Campus), and other institutions through the region. We are blessed augmented with the resources of HCA Healthcare, the nation’s largest provider of GME training. This includes support for scholarly activity and research for presentation and publication at the regional and national levels.

HCA Healthcare and Redmond Regional are committed to meeting the healthcare needs of our local communities with world class clinical care. We recognize and address the areas of greatest need in innovative ways. Graduate Medical Education is an ambition to provide for those needs through future generations of physicians. Expansion plans for GME include the addition of fellowship programs in Addiction Medicine and Geriatric Medicine with the help of our sister institutions in the region. These programs have been approved to start in the 2020-21 academic year.

Please continue to explore our programs, both online and in person. This is an exciting time for medical education in Rome at HCA Healthcare Redmond Regional Medical Center and we hope you will become a part of our future.
