Redmond Regional Medical Center won an appeal of the hospital's certificate of need to add basic obstetric services. The Georgia Department of Community Health ruled in favor of Redmond, following appeal hearings.
"We are pleased with the states ruling, upholding our certificate of need to add obstetric services," said Redmond Chief Executive Officer John Quinlivan.
The CON approval is the first of many steps in adding basic obstetric services. Redmond will begin working with multiple groups on the many components of creating a successful obstetrics program. More details surrounding the timeline for completion will be available as the project develops.
