Redmond Regional Medical Center mobilized a team of clinical staff with three advanced life support ambulances and two transport vans to Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center to assist in Hurricane Michael relief efforts. Gulf Coast Medical Center is a sister-facility of Redmond under the umbrella of parent company, HCA. When officials at Redmond learned of the need for assistance in evacuating patients from hurricane-damaged Gulf Coast Regional, Redmond staff stepped up and volunteered to assist. Six members of Redmond EMS and four team members from Redmond's Inpatient Rehab Unit traveled to Panama City, Florida on Thursday, October 11th. Arriving at approximately 8pm that night, the team from Redmond immediately began assisting with transporting patients to neighboring hospitals. It is not certain how long the team will remain in Florida. However, in the event that extended assistance is needed - additional Redmond Team members are already preparing to relieve the current team.
