Cardiovascular Teams at Redmond Regional Medical Center had a unique learning opportunity on Valentine's Day. The Impella Mobile Learning Lab made a two-day stop in Rome, providing state-of-the-art training for the cardiovascular and critical care teams at Redmond. The Impella Mobile Learning Lab travels the country providing training in this advanced cardiac procedure. It is an honor for Redmond to be selected to host the Impella Mobile Learning Lab. Sometimes referred to as "the world's smallest heart pump," Impella is used during some heart procedures for patients with certain critical heart conditions. The ability to offer Impella is yet another example of the advanced cardiovascular services Redmond provides the communities of Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama.
