Redmond Regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) operates three service in three counties; Floyd, Polk and Chattooga. As a 911 EMS provider, Redmond provides primary coverage these areas with stations located throughout our zones to provide maximum coverage and speedy response times.
In addition to providing first line response in these areas, Redmond EMS responds to any area of Floyd County as requested.
Since the service opened in 1989, Redmond EMS has been known for the quality pre-hospital care we provide. We were the first service in the state to utilize clot-busting drugs in the field for patients suffering a heart attack. This project became the benchmark in care for many services.
In addition to the emergency coverage we provide, we are the EMS provider for many venues needing an EMT or paramedic to be present during their events. This includes events in all three counties so if you see our ambulances on site, know you are in good hands.
Redmond EMS also provides non-emergency transportation (NET) during normal business hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Many people need to go to doctor’s appointments or for testing and do not require an ambulance but are unable to go in a car. This service provides transportation in a specially equipped van. These trips can be scheduled ahead of time by calling 706-232-2000.
Redmond EMS is proud to be the lead agency for the Floyd County Chapter of Safe Kids of Georgia. This is a non-profit organization that provides safety education and demonstrations, safety brochures, bicycle helmets, car seats, and car seat installation at no charge to the citizens of Floyd County.
