Federal Motor Carriers (US Department of Transportation) Safety Regulation 49 CFR Part 391 Subpart E, 391.43 Physical Qualifications and Examination require that medical examiners (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants etc) be Certified DOT Medical Examiners and must be listed on FMCSA's National Registry by May 21, 2014. Redmond's Certified Medical Examiners are knowledgeable of the specific physical and mental demands associated with operating a commercial motor vehicle, are knowledgeable in the medical regulatory criteria prepared by the FHWA as guidelines to aid the medical examiner in making the qualification determination, follow the specific DOT medical criteria guidelines, utilize the DOT Physical Examination form and provide the medical examiner's certificate for each participant in accordance with the regulation. In addition, Redmond's Certified DOT Medical Examiners complete these task with public safety in mind and are willing to communicate with motor carrier safety professionals.
Redmond Certified DOT Medical Examiners are located at Redmond Clinics in Cedartown, Rome, and Trion. Parking for large trucks is also available at these locations.
DOT Drug & Alcohol Services
Redmond Occupational Health provides a DOT Drug and Alcohol Program that meets the DOT Code of Federal Regulations Title 49, Part 40 standard. We offer DOT Breath Alcohol Testing, urine drug screening including MRO/Confirmation or collection only as well as quarterly Random Selection of employees to be tested and Quarterly Reports in compliance with the standard.
