  • Redmond Regional Medical Center Celebrates Menlo EMS Station Opening

October 04, 2011

Menlo, GA; A ribbon cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce and Rome Chamber of Commerce was held at the new Redmond EMS station located at 2963 Georgia Highway 337, Menlo, Georgia.  The new station joins three other EMS locations in Chattooga County, one in Summerville, one in Gore and the soon to open station in Trion.  Changes of note since the April transition of ownership to Redmond from the county include two additional ambulances to the Chattooga County fleet, response times lessened from over 10 minutes to around 8 minutes, 22 new jobs created and extended hours of operation at the Redmond Family Care at Trion Clinic.

Robert Early, EMS Director says, “It is exciting to open this station as previously, trucks had to travel a good ways to make it to patients in this area. The expanded coverage directly contributes to our overall reduced response times and essentially, lives saved.”

The Menlo EMS station will also operate as a first aid clinic for minor emergencies such as burns and scrapes.  The station includes a small exam room to care for walk-in patients 24/7.
